The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception came and went this past Saturday, and I certainly wasn’t the only person blogging about it… below are some of my favorite posts that I read this week. The Immaculate Conception is such an important dogma, but it’s also one that presents a lot of challenges–particularly for those of us who grew up in Protestant churches. So I hope you’ll take a few minutes to read some of these great blogs.
First, I have to say that the best thing I read all week on the Immaculate Conception, by far, came from Rebecca Hamilton of the blog “Public Catholic.” You can read her magnificent post here:
Immaculate Conception: The Door Opening
But of course, there were a lot of great posts… Here are some of my favorites:
Fr. Dwight Longenecker: Immaculata: from the Head to the Heart
Called to Communion: Searching for the Immaculate Conception
Mark Shea has gone quite in-depth about the Immaculate Conception at the National Catholic Register
Catholic Fire: The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception
