The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is being celebrated in a major, major way today as the Church continues through its Year of Faith. Among her many other charges, OLOG is the patroness of the New Evangelization– something that Pope Benedict and the bishops are emphasizing in a major. Consequently, there is a lot of Guadalupe blogging going on today… Here is some of the best I’ve found:
First, Cardinal Sean O’Malley, the Archbishop of Boston, encourages all American Catholics to become more familiar with Our Lady and the role she plays in the New Evangelization here.
Fr. Denis, from the excellent blog “Life with a German Shepherd,” has a great reflection on OLOG called “A Rough Piece of Fabric.”
Sam Rocha has a wondeful and challengin piece entitled “The Politics of Guadalupe.” Give it a nice, slow read… there’s a great challenge there for us all.
Finally, as the Church–and especially the Church in the Americas– celebrates this day in grand fashion, Catholic journalist par excellence Rocco Palmo has all the coverage you need at his blog “Whispers in the Loggia.”
Is there anything that you’ve found that isn’t included here, but should be? Let me know, and I’ll add it…
