UPDATED: Per “The Tolling Bell”, there has been a confirmed arrest and indictment in the Sovereign Grace Ministries abuse scandal. See here.
It seems that within the last couple of days, a blog has gone live that covers news regarding Sovereign Grace Ministries. They are aptly titled “The Tolling Bell.”
And there’s a lot of news to cover: two more churches have split away, including the very large SGM church in Fairfax, Virginia. Perhaps more importantly, there’s been an amended complaint filed in the abuse lawsuit that began in October. It contains allegations from several new plaintiffs that are, to be quite blunt, horrifying.
The bell is indeed tolling for SGM. The more ugly truth comes to light, the deeper the death spiral continues, the more I fear that things will get far, far uglier before the end. Elsewhere in Stepford, meanwhile, C.J. Mahaney and his allies continue to try to pretend as if nothing’s wrong.
If, by some chance, any of our friends and family that remain in SGM are reading this, we are begging you: for your own spiritual safety, get out. Leave. SGM is a sick organization with a trail of victims in its wake, and it makes us sick to think that you could be hurt by these wolves in sheep’s clothing.
