Like all of us, I’m still learning about our new Holy Father…but what I’m reading so far has me very, very excited.
We know that he has a deep commitment to the poor, and to living a simple lifestyle. We know that he is strongly pro-life. And now I’ve just read of his love and care for Eastern Catholics… readers of this blog can guess how quickly that endeared him to me!
His first appearance at the balcony of St. Peter’s moved me to tears. What a profound display of humility, and how crucial that in the first moments of his papacy, he called us all to prayer.
So, I’m looking forward to the days and weeks to come…in the meantime, let’s continue to pray for the Holy Father!

Can you imagine? Asking all of us to pray a blessing on him. I have gotten very teary several times today. I’m so humbled by God’s care for His Church. He’s given us a Holy Father who will model Christ for us. We are all blessed indeed.
My thoughts as well. I have a deep devotion to St. Francis as well so when the Holy Father knelt down and asked for our prayers, I just lost it. So humble and prayerful.
